GAJA
One of the great classics! Angelo Gaja's Barbaresco is an elegant, delicate Nebbiolo in a class of its own. Not for nothing did Angelo often compare him to Marcello Mastrojanni.
With Angelo Gaja's globally celebrated single-vineyard Barbareschi, he not only wrote Italian wine history, but also caused an uproar when he had them classified as Langhe Nebbiolo rather than within the DOCG Barbaresco.
Years ago, he also expanded his activities into Tuscany: At Ca' Marcanda in Bolgheri, that so dynamic region of the upper Maremma, he has presented no less great designs of wine with Promis and Magari. Here he shows the potential of international grape varieties in Italy.
