Calabashes are used to prepare mate tea. Mate is mainly drunk in Latin America. This calabash is made of bottle gourd. As this is a natural material, there may be variations in colour and size. These make each calabash unique. Calabashes made from bottle gourds require special care so that they retain their beauty and cleanliness for a long time.

Instructions for use
A calabash is a vegetable product, a small gourd. The fibre residues are easily removed with a "bombilla" (drinking tube). The bombilla is specially designed and rounded to avoid injuries in the rind of the calabash. In the Mate countries, it is traditional for everyone to prepare their own calabash.
Then the following recipe is to be carried out:
1. fill the calabash about one third full with mate tea.
2. Pour boiling water over it
3. leave to stand for a day
4. Tip out
5. Repeat the procedure twice After three days your calabash is ready for use. The flavours of the tea have penetrated the inner winds through the repeated procedure and will now push back the harsher taste of the gourd skin. This leaves the aroma of the mate tea unadulterated.
