Château Margaux produces one of the most famous wines in the world. The château is also called the "crown jewel of the Médoc" and its wine is described as a model of elegance and finesse in terms of aroma and taste. In the Bordeaux classification of 1855, the estate was ranked among the elite of the five best "Premier Cru Classé", a rank it shares today with only four other châteaux in the Médoc: Lafite, Latour, Mouton and Haut-Brion.
