At the eastern gateway to the Wachau in the Loibner Basin, the vines grow on Danube sediments that consist mainly of gravel. The cool air masses from a side valley, the Menthalgraben, bring cooling at night. These conditions are reflected in the wine through expressive fruit and a distinctive and lively acidity.
