Aged tequila with an unprecedented complexity. Destillery Vulcán de Mi Tierra pushed the boundaries of aging tequila by blending Añejo and Extra-Añejo. The Añejo matures in Glenmorangie whisky casks, the Extra Añejo in Hennessy cognac casks. Then they removed the colour and the most prominent wooden notes to keep the crisp flavor of the agave. Volcán de Mi Tierra Cristalino is a fusion of tobacco, dried fruits, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and cooked agave aromas in this unique and elegant style. It unveils its best aromas sipped neat or savored chilled on the rocks.

Volcán de Mi Tierra is made from 100% blue agave with no additives and is built on an assemblage, selecting the very best 100% blue agave from two volcanic terroirs of Jalisco, lowlands and highlands, to reach a complex and elegant liquid.

The Highlands terroir elevates over 5,500 feet above sea level with red clay soil, rich in iron, giving floral and fruity aromas. The Lowlands terroir sits more than 3,000 feet above sea level with a richer, darker volcanic soil giving an earthy, spicy and herbaceous taste.

At Volcan de Mi Tierra they infuse legacy and innovation, blending the best of the old and new worlds. The distillery uses a traditional process of Tahona volcanic rock milling and modern milling machines. They combine the use of a mampostery oven and autoclave pressure for the agave cooking, a slow fermentation in wood & stainless-steel tanks finishing with state-of-the-art processes to develop the tequila with unparalleled flavor and aroma. After the agave is mashed, the liquid enters Volcan de Mi Tierra’s proprietary american & european oak casks, using wood from different trees and different plots to create a unique tasting profile. Then, much like a volcano, the casks lay dormant for months, even years, as the liquid ferments and evolves. Absolutely no additives are used during the process; shortcuts, and synthetics have no place here.

 

Nose: Aromas of tobacco, dried fruit, chocolate and vanilla unfold on the nose.
Tongue: With its aromas of caramel, tobacco and dark chocolate, Cristalino is smooth and supple, yet powerful in character. Its flavours are complemented by gentle herbal notes that reflect the influence of the slow roasting of the valley's agaves.
Drinking recommendation: This Blanco is best enjoyed at a drinking temperature of a chilled 4°C.
