Champagne Andre Robert
The Grand Cru Champagne Les Jardins du Mesnil Blanc de Blanc from Champagné André Robert consists of 100% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru vineyards of Mesnil sur Oger, which are famous for their expressive and elegant Chardonnays.
In the glass, the champagne presents itself in a brilliant, light golden yellow and a very fine perlage. The champagne smells of white flowers and fresh citrus aromas with slight hints of caramel.
The base wines for this Grand Cru Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay are matured without malolactic fermentation, 70% in stainless steel and 30% in wooden barrels to maintain freshness. After the traditional bottle fermentation, the champagne matures on the fine lees for up to 5 years before it is disgorged.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
Bertrand Robert and his wife Colette have been running the winery in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger since 1977. Located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, the vineyards cover the Granc Cru sites of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger and Cramant. All three classic grape varieties are grown, but the great passion is Chardonnay. An unusually long yeast storage - 3 years for non-vintage and up to 6 years for the vintage champagnes - as well as the maturation in wooden barrels contribute complexity and finesse. In addition to a meticulous selection of the grape material, bottling takes place comparatively late in July. Precision, clarity and freshness are the hallmarks of André Robert's consistently elegant wines, which thus offer a unique view of the terroir of the Côte des Blancs.
