When Primo arrived in Turin in 1932 from Tuscany, he found a city where confectionery was an art. He opened his sweet shop La Torinese in Via Franco Bonelli 2, a popular suburb. Here he created his first panettone cakes, worked them slowly in his workshop, baked them in a wood-fired oven and packaged them by hand.
