Salzberg 2012

organic
Named after the excellent south-facing slope of the same name, located directly above the winery. Remarkable about this is not only the ideal sun exposure, but also the fascinating diversity of soils. From clayey-silty to chalky to sandy-gravelly, it allows both the Merlot and the Blaufränkisch to mature to perfection.

Description

A cuvée of 50% Merlot and 50% Blaufränkisch.
Dark ruby garnet, opaque core violet reflections, delicate rim brightening. In the nose fine ethereal accents, underpinned with powidl, wild wild berries, undergrowth and earthy aromas, very multifaceted. On the palate it flexes its muscles and shows that power is not everything.
