Daniel Gantenbein

Chardonnay Graubünden AOC 2021

Gantenbein Winery epitomizes the mineral essence of Chablis, the fruit-driven power of white Burgundy, and the harmonious unity of the Chardonnay. This barrel-aged Chardonnay, though young, is remarkably accessible and promises a brilliant future.

Preserving grape quality is paramount to Gantenbein, with a production process relying on gravity alone, eliminating the need for pumps or filters. This meticulous approach ensures the grapes and juice retain their integrity from vine to bottle.

Description

Nestled in the Grisons Rhine Valley near Fläsch, Gantenbein Winery has crafted exceptional wines since 1982. With a focus on quality, Martha and Daniel Gantenbein planted burgundy clones in their vineyards, producing only three wines, including an acclaimed mineral Chardonnay that ranks among Switzerland's finest.

Nose: the deep, exotic fruit in the nose is skilfully staged by the bready, toasty aromas, virtually lifted up and only really defined.
Tongue: It has power and body, but is in no way overweight. The finish shines with candied lemon and vibrates forever.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay

Origin: Swiss / Grisons Rhine Valley
