The first glance reveals a light and bright golden colour, reminiscent of ripe wheat.
The nose reveals aromas of gingerbread, candied orange peel and a hint of hazelnut.
On the palate, the elegant structure reveals an enormous fullness and intensity, which is enhanced by a long-lasting finish with a final hint of citrus fruit.
Clos d'Ambonnay is a small 0.68 hectare walled parcel located in the heart of Ambonnay, one of the most famous Pinot Noir villages in Champagne, from which Krug has sourced its Pinot Noir grapes since the early years.
Krug Clos d'Ambonnay 2002 is the fifth Champagne from this unique Pinot Noir parcel. The first was created from the 1995 harvest.
