Château Lafite Rothschild
The best Lafite wines have been awarded a full 100 points by wine critic Robert Parker for years. The Rothschild family, which has owned Château Lafite-Rothschild for five generations, has been involved in winegrowing in Bordeaux since 1868. As early as 1855, the Château was elevated to the rank of "Premier Grand Cru" and is now one of the most famous and successful wine estates in the world. Located in the north of Pauillac and bordering the municipality of Saint Estèphe, the estate belongs to the Médoc appellation. The vineyard area around the château, consisting of three large zones, totals 112 ha and is planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
