Chateau Palmer
Château Palmer in Margaux, Médoc, is a renowned vineyard that was classified as a third growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. It consistently ranks among the best wines in the region. Unlike typical Médoc cuvées, Château Palmer combines Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petit Verdot for a fleshy and generous structure. It can be savoured when young and is also suitable for long ageing.
The ownership of Château Palmer in the early 20th century was accompanied by advantages, including the production of private white wine barrels. This tradition continued until the late 1930s and ended with the outbreak of war. In the late 1990s, a remarkable discovery was made in the cellars of the winery: two bottles of Vin Blanc de Palmer from 1925. Inspired by this rediscovery, Muscadelle, Sauvignon Gris and Loset vines were reintroduced until the early 2000s. Vin Blanc de Palmer was thus reborn in 2007.
