Aromatic & Citrus Sichuan Pepper in a suitable Spicemill. Fruits of an ash tree from the rutaceae (citrus) family, Sichuan berries, with powerful and lemony notes, are widely used in Asian cuisine. They are found in particular in the famous 5-spice blend. 

In Chinese, the flavour created by the combination of Szechuan pepper and hot paprika is called málà i.e. "numbing and hot". This flavour characterises Sichuan cuisine. This pepper is suitable for fire pots, dandan mian, noodles with hot sauce, spicy beef, mapo doufu, as well as salads, fish, poultry and sweet and sour dishesbut also for desserts with fruits and chocolate. Szechuan pepper is also part of the five-spice powder spice mix.
