Quinta da Côrte
Full-bodied and very expressive, it opens with aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry jelly, raspberry, pepper and liquorice, then develops elegant floral aromas and finishes with subtle toasted notes.
Supple, full-bodied and very tasty, supported by a framework of soft, creamy tannins and a mild acidity that lends balance to an elegantly constructed ensemble from the attack to the long, crisp and delicate finish, superbly showcasing the minerality of the slate rock.
Several plots with old vines were specially selected for this great Douro red wine. They all have predominantly north or north-east exposures, which allow the grapes to ripen harmoniously while retaining a fine freshness.
The wine is 40% Touriga Franca, 20% Touriga Nacional and 40% Tinta Roriz. Three quarters of this vintage was aged in barrels for 12 months, 30% of which was in new wood. The remaining quarter was vinified in stainless steel tanks.
