Description

The Pössnitzberg vineyard is predestined as a special white wine terroir. The interplay of soil structure and climatic factors makes this vineyard so distinctive and the wines of the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety so authentic. The grapes for "Ried Pössnitzberger Kapelle Sauvignon Blanc" come from a vineyard on the Pössnitzberg, where there is a small, old chapel. As early as the 1960s, the then landowner and cultivator of this vineyard, Karl Rengo, named his wines "Pössnitzberger Kapelle". This wine from the Pössnitzberg is one of our rarities, is finely mineral, enormously salty on the palate with a tight structure and has a high longevity. The harvest is limited to a maximum of 45hl. As a rarity, this wine may not be put on sale before 1 May after 30 months of ageing.

Recommended food pairings: smoked trout, warm char, goose or duck, game dishes, braised beef dishes (oxtail, shoulder shank), steak.
