WEINGUT STREHN
Pia Strehn had an idea a decade ago. While preparing for a lecture on Provence wines, she discovered bold, creamy, barrel-aged Rosés from the South of France. She couldn't resist bringing this style to Deutschkreutz. The result is a recently bottled, unique Rosé made exclusively from Blaufränkisch grapes in Mittelburgenland.
This Rosé defies the norm of light mainstream wines, earning its name as an "elephant in a porcelain store". Inspired by powerful, creamy wines of the South of France, Pia Strehn and her family crafted this extraordinary, multi-layered Rosé. It showcases flavours of blood oranges, vineyard peaches, bourbon vanilla, and herbs. Rich clay overlay on a limestone bed. Constant fresh breeze from the north, slowly maturing with intense aroma development and plenty of depth.
Nose: Intense and inspiring nose of blood oranges, vineyard peach, bourbon vanilla and herbs.
Tongue: Full-bodied, juicy, round, intense fruit of citrus, peach and blood orange. Long finish on the palate.
Pairing recommendation: pairs well with Beef Tatar and Steak. Serve at 14°C.
Grape variety: Blaufränkisch 100%
Origin: Austria / Burgenland / Region Deutschkreutz
Alcohol content: 13,5% vol.
